Well the first time I put these on I was simply blown away! The highs and lows are beautiful. There is deep bass. They are high quality so all my lower bitrate files sound like crap now because they are that good. I will record it all at 256 in the future because you can hear the quality. They are kinda heavy and hurt your ears at first but now after wearing them now for about a month I don’t even notice when I am wearing them. I walk around campus all day with these on so I get some looks. The chrome like ear cups give a nice touch as well. Also, the fact that you can disconnect the cord from the actual set is a nice feature as well. That will extend the life of the cans for sure as in the past a cord breaking was what caused my headphones to stop working. Now I have to ask myself, why didn’t I get these sooner!? Buy these now. You will not be disappointed.

Bought these to replace the same ones she had but dropped and broke.
The only complaint she had was she wished they were a little thinner on the ear pads.

These headphones are of great quality. You know that you are going to be getting great audio equipment when you buy from a name like Technics. The audio quality is fantastic. The frequency response on the box matches my old Pioneer HDJ-1000s which I had for about 1 year before they broke. I fixed them many times before I decided to get these as a replacement. I must say I think that the frequency response on the HDJs is a little better on the low end. Doing a frequency test I feel like the HDJs produced fuller low tones from 30hz down to 5. The Technics seem to lose some power around the 20-15 range. I could still feel it slightly after that but not a whole lot of sound. This could have been a result of the bass test I downloaded, so don’t put too much weight into this. I recommend these headphones over the HDJs because they have an almost identical sound quality. The build of these also seems much more stable. The comfort was a great upgrade as well. The HDJs hurt after 30 mins of use because of the pressure on your head and also the uncomfortable ear pads that are too hard and small. These headphones completely surround my ears and sit comfortably on my head. They can still get uncomfortable but nothing like the HDJs. Overall I recommend these headphones for anyone who needs great quality headphones at a decent price.

If you’re looking for perfect reproduction, don’t buy this. Please keep in mind it was built for the live DJ and beatmatching and thus does not offer perfect fidelity.
Having said that, it’s rugged; the removable audio cord is a god-send (how many headphones I have ruined by stepping on its dangling cord while mixing); and oh-so comfortable.
In sum: great for DJs. But if you’re Joe or Jane Average, look elesewhere.
