what is the difference between belt drive and direct drive digital turntables?
we are looking to buy a digital turntable and want to know what works best for our purposes.

They are both fine when they are new.
Over time the belt drive will need another belt, so if you buy used, you buy the direct drive.
I used to sell both, both are good units.

underneath the turntable there is a belt looks like a rubberband, motor turns belt/turns table. Direct drive is gears to gears drive on turn table both run on servo/integrated drive motors for speed, linear turntables are the best, mine has a belt drive, but if your going to slip like a rapper get the belt and some spare belts unless your turntable is altered for slipping and a linear is useless for slipping, diamond stylus last 10 times longer than sapphire. not knowing your purposes
