This is my second posting of this review. I believe Amazon deleted my first review for reasons beyond me. However, I bought the PT-01 usb to archive my vast vinyl collection. It worked great at first, but then the pitch began to fluctuate, which is very noticeable when sustained chords are played in a song. This is also disastrous for any djs archiving their vinyl, because the bpm’s must stay constant for mixing. I took my unit in for repair and they replaced the belt drive. It worked great after that….for about two months and then the same thing happened. It appears that the belts being supplied for these turntables are of inferior quality and wear with age. Unacceptable. The other features on this unit are useless. I don’t really see a need for a built-in speaker, nor battery-powered capabilities. I don’t imagine anyone will be taking these to the beach. That said, save your money until a better usb turntable comes out on the market.

Item works well for the price. My kids enjoyed taking all of my vinyl and putting it on their i-pods.

**** It’s a very nice record player. ****
The Good:
USB hookup is without issue. : )
Sound quality is what you would expect. : )
Transfer to PC is flawless : )
The OUTPUTS and CONTROLS are Exceptional. 0:-)
The speaker is nice. : )
The manual is better than most. : )
The website seems informative and helpful. : )
Plays 78 45 and 33 1/3 speed records. (I’ve only played 45 33 1/3) : )
Packaging was good. : )
The Bad:
Transfer to mac is fine but you need to download the software from web. It says the software is on the CD but it is not.
The annoying or I wish it were different:
There is not a built in AC power adapter, or USB cable holder. As this is portable you will need a second bag or something similar to carry your cables. This makes it easier to forget or misplace. If I could at least fit it in an empty battery compartment that would be something.
I wish it had a lever for raising and lowering the needle : |
Conclusion :
I really like it because it’s functional and tech freindly.
All reviews seem to really like it.
People complain about stupid stuff but this is a great little player for a fair price.
(Identical to ION IPTUSB)

I have not recorded yet, but for the price the record player is perfect. The sound from the built in speaker is not bad, but with headphones or other speakers it is great. (uses computer style speakers.) Lightweight for easy transport and small for storage or moving.) Will update after recording

I was wondering how I’d convert the old albums I have to digital and thought I’d give this product a try. With the software provided and ease of use, this product does it all. My first try was to convert an old Hopalong Cassidy story album I’ve had since 1952. In no time I had it on the PC and then I tried removing the noises that come with old age (the recording not me), the revised sound now is like new.
I will now start on all of my albums and convert them to MP3′s. This product is a MUST for those that want to convert your albums and tapes to MP3′s.
